Our goal is to position Rock Shindig as an inspiration and motivation for rock musicians. We’re dedicated in uniting a global community of rock music enthusiasts to share a common passion that is rock music.

Unbiased album reviews – Rock Shindig does not get paid to review any albums nor do we take personal preferences into consideration. We review albums with integrity.
Top rock music charts – every week Rock Shindig will release top rock music charts with various sub-genres based on user comments as well as through research of online resources including the top radio stations around the nation.
Online interviews with artists – read interviews as we talk to artists about music, life, and anything else we want to ask.

WHAT MUSIC DO YOU FEATURE?

Rock Shindig features music of all rock music genres from established rock superstars to that up and coming rock band. The Rock Shindig staff will feature songs on the site that are worthy of spreading the music to the world. We will feature everything in rock music including Punk, Metal, Alternative, BritPop, Emo, Progressive, Indie, Pop Rock, Rap Rock, Grunge, etc…

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR MUSIC?

Rock Shindig gets all its music directly from labels, artists, and our network of rock music communities. They care about the feedback of the Rock Shindig community because this community provides a platform of user feedback as well as the opportunity to promote their music. Comment wisely, honestly, and often, your voice is being heard.

CAN I SUBMIT MY BAND’S SONGS?

As long as the song is in the rock music genre, absolutely. In order for your band’s song to be considered for our site, send an email to rockshindig[at]gmail.com and include the following required information. Due to time constraints and the amount of submissions, incomplete information will be discarded.

Songs must be in MP3 format at 192 bps or higher. Sound quality is important.
A professionally written bio of yourself/band. No more than a paragraph.
At least one professionally taken promo photo (jpg or gif format only)
At least one link to your website, facebook/myspace page, Twitter account

CAN I WORK FOR ROCK SHINDIG?

We’re always looking to add to the Rock Shindig family, but it will be an unpaid gig. I’m guessing you’ve moved on by now…hello? Are you still reading this? If so, below are the opportunities that currently exist. We can offer school credit for interns.

Writer - is fancy writing with in depth knowledge in rock music something you enjoy? Then we want to learn more about you. There are tons of headlines streaming in the rock music arena so we’d be looking to add writers who can not only report on the top headlines, but also give your two cents. Other opportunities include creating articles such as “top 10″ lists or whatever other creative articles we want to muster up.
Album reviewer – same as above except reviewing albums…duh. If you are obsessed with a specific sub-genre of rock music, then we want to learn more about you. Are you just an excellent reviewer and give unbiased album reviews? We want to learn more about you too.

What we need from you:

A couple paragraphs detailing why you are interesting in joining the Rock Shindig staff. It’s an unpaid gig so we really want to find out why you’re interested.
Two (2) professional writing samples as well as any links to articles that have been published.
Link to your blog as well as links to any social media accounts such as Twitter, facebook, myspace, digg

Privacy Policy – Rock Shindig does not share or sell email addresses or personal information gathered on the site to anyone.

Commenting Policy – Rock Shindig is geared towards a family type atmosphere so that means no threatening, obscene, inappropriate, abusive, and offensive comments. Although the songs may feature one or all of the above, such comments made by users will be removed. If you come across any questionable material or comment, do not hesitate to contact us.

Copyright Policy – All content on Rock Shindig is for personal use only and may not be copied, reproduced, transmitted, sold, licensed, distributed, or otherwise exploited for any other purpose without the prior written consent of Rock Shindig. Rock Shindig respects all copyright laws. All music posted on the site is received directly from the owners or representatives of the owners who have given us permission to post on the site. If you are a copyright owner or a representative and believe that any content infringes upon your copyrights, please submit a notification pursuant to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to rockshindig[at]gmail.com and the material will be removed promptly.
